Open up your space with the ActivWall Gas Strut Window.

This innovative product opens up and out for serving, entertaining, or enjoying nature. The single panel window offers unobstructed visibility and can be utilized interior or exterior in both residential or commercial settings. Insulated glass and thermally broken aluminum components allow for high energy efficiency, and every product is fully customized to meet our customers' needs.

How Does It Work?

Unlock the latches and give the Gas Strut Window a push from the inside. The sturdy commercial grade gas struts will take over and gently extend to create up to a 90 degree opening.

Many customers choose to install a countertop that extends out through the window to create an indoor-outdoor bar for serving.

When you are done grilling or dining outdoors, simply pull down the window from the outside to close, or you can use our optional ActivWall Pull Hook to close the servery window from the inside.

If you only want to open the window a few inches for ventilation, ask about our optional Kick Stand attachment.

Gas Strut Window Details

The ActivWall Gas Strut Window is available in the following systems:

Aluminum AL62-GS
At the heart of every ActivWall aluminum system is a thermally broken frame component designed for strength, durability and product flexibility. This component has been carefully designed to enable ActivWall products to do things that other systems simply cannot do.

Wood-Clad AW66-GS
Our wood-clad aluminum system offers the warmth and beauty of wood on the interior with the strength and low maintenance of thermally-broken aluminum on the exterior. By combining various wood species on the inside with a variety of aluminum finishes on the outside, design possibilities are virtually limitless. The modified aluminum profile accepts a snap-in wood component that can be painted or stained according to the customer’s preference.

Are screens available?
Yes, there are. We do not manufacture any screens ourselves, but we can recommend a custom screen company that can help you. For Gas Strut windows, customers often get screens that roll up and down, or screens that are removable and can snap into the opening.

How much do they cost?
Every single product we make is fully customized to meet our customers’ needs. Because of this, product costs are dependent on many variables, such as product finish, glass type, unit size, and shipping. Prices typically start at $3,500 (before shipping and installation). How do I measure for my Gas Strut Window?
The width of the “opening” is the measurement used – from stud to stud. For the height, the measurement begins at the header and runs to the bottom of the sill channel (or the countertop if no sill is chosen). If there is currently another window in place, the inside measurements of the current window frame (not the glass) will typically work, although be sure to speak to your ActivWall sales person about this – images of the opening may be needed to determine the correct measurements.
